What this is
Field records, identifications and DNA-sequence reviews by one amateur mycologist in Baldwin County, Alabama. Photos and the public record of each find are on iNaturalist; this site holds the working records behind them.
Every record here is one fungus: a specimen Will collected (WRJ number), or someone else's iNaturalist observation whose DNA sequence he reviewed for MycoMap. The photos, the community identification and the public discussion live on iNaturalist (willfh54); this site holds the working records behind them.
What is published and what is not
- Identification write-ups appear only after an independent review of the identification was recorded. A record without one says so.
- DNA-sequence verdicts on other people's observations appear only once they have been posted on iNaturalist; reviews still in progress are marked as such.
- To-do lists, private notes and working files stay on Will's computer.
Counts at the last build
218 specimens · 192 other people's observations · 68 published write-ups · 9 published DNA verdicts.
